Moving Forward....

Hello there. It has been a while since I last posted to my blog. I have been busy this summer doing some reno's around the house. Nothing major, however, time consuming. Now with the reno's out of the way, it is time for TRAINS! I have a new kit. It is called THE SHIPYARD by Sierra West. It will fit in my wharf area quite nicely. I have a FSM kit on order and should receive it some time in November. This is the kit I will work on this winter, as well as a couple of modules for switching. After looking at my train room, I am not happy with the finish of the walls and ceiling. Hence, this is why I will work on 2 modules and then fix up the train room for a future railroad. The modules will allow me to practice in scenery as well as some wiring for my DCC system. Well, that is it for now. Oops! One more thing. I am not really into New Years Resolutions, but this year I am going to make more of an effort to post to this blog more often. Have a great day. Until next time...................

Spencer's Update...

Hi everyone. My kit is coming along really nice ( my opinion ). This is my first Southriver Modelworks kit. I am really impressed with the fit of the pieces and the instructions are very good quality. The billboard atop of the building is of a local band here in Ottawa. I work with the drummer and asked him for a picture of the band so that I could make a billboard. I really like the way it turned out. A few more hours of painting castings, some chimneys to install and I should be ready for some scenery work. Here are some progress pics... Stay tuned for more pics.....

Sunday Afternoon

Well, here it is, Sunday afternoon. Just having some fun, working on a South River Modelworks kit ( Spencer's ). It is a really nice kit. Instructions are very clear. Parts fit together really well. I am getting the itch to get to the railroad room and do some benchwork. However, as many times in the past, I have just thrown down track, only to pry it back up as I wasn't happy with it. So, this time I really want to look into some track plans before I start cutting up wood. I have a really good idea what I want, but have to figure out where my built up kits will go. Some of them won't be used as the room is only 11 x 11 feet. So, we'll see how things go. Right now my focus is on this kit and then maybe in the early spring I will have access to the garage for building benchwork instead of creating dust in the basement. There you go, just a quick update on what's happeing here..........

What's Happenin'

Well it's been a while since I posted anything. I have been working on some kits over the winter. I am 80% finished my Scotty Mason Kit... Laskey's Cabinet shop. However when I was sent the kit, Scotty didn't have the shingles for the main roof, in stock, so I am patiently waiting for those to arrive so I can finish the kit. In the mean time, I have decided to build Spencer's Paper Box Company by South River Model Works. Talk about alot of details. Lots of castings and a few buildings fill this box. Other than that, not much else is happening. Looking forward to Vegas in April. Bye for now...................................
